Latest video for Battlefront II mod features ground-to-space flight
Battlefront III Legacy, a Battlefront II mod using Battlefront III assets, just released a new video featuring ground-to-space flight and Star Destroyer-docking.
I previously wrote about Battlefront III Legacy last week as it will enter beta soon.
This video showcases flying a Lambda-class T-4a shuttle from Coruscant up into a the belly of a Star Destroyer. Other ships, like the TIE Interceptor, TIE Bomber and TIE Fighter get some flying time, too.
Although not in the video, the TIE Defender was also shown off recently.
It’s cool to see this mod include a hangar on the bottom-side of the Star Destroyer. The side hangars in Battlefront II always irked me a bit, even if they made more sense from a gameplay perspective.
The thing I find most impressive is how crisp the ship visuals (which I assume are Battlefront III models) look in an engine that’s over 10 years old. Of course they don’t look as sharp as this gen’s Battlefront, but they’re solid nonetheless.
Personally, I was never a fan of flying in Battlefront II; I think the current Battlefront improved on this faucet. Still, ground-to-space flying is cool to see in action. It’s especially impressive to see it running on such an old engine. Hopefully, EA/DICE/Motive are able to include this feature in next year’s Battlefront!

I know this is your opinion but your crazy if you think the flying and combat mechanics from the new one is better than BF2.
That’s totally fair. I know a number of people who loved flying in BF2. It’s just not my thing (still love both original Battlefronts, though!).
