Ever wanted The Clone Wars TV show in Battlefront II?

You may soon be able to play just that.

A Battlefront II mod, titled “The Battles of The Clone Wars”, is currently in a closed alpha. Based around the TV show that ran on Cartoon Network from 2008-15, the mod recently updated to version 1.3 of its alpha.

From what I’ve seen so far, it does an excellent job at capturing the essence The Clone Wars TV show.

While I especially like Obi-Wan Kenobi’s model (shown up top), Anakin Skywalker’s skin isn’t too shabby itself:

There’s also an Ahsoka Tano model that’s pretty solid, too:

It’s worth noting that the styles for the above characters resemble their Season 3 appearances.

The mod also features Plo Koon and it reskins numerous clone troopers to match the style of the show. Other items, like the Z-6 Rotary Blaster Cannon, also make welcomed arrivals. It further showcases revamped Utapau, Mos Eisley, Jabba’s Palace, Polis Massa and Death Star maps, plus support for other modded maps (such as the Coruscant map from Battlefront III: Legacy).

The mod also promises that “recoil or health regeneration” are to be included, but notes that “the core and the spirit of the game will be not touched.” I’m uncertain if (or how) hero abilities will be affected, so I can’t judge how it plays or performs. However, there’s no denying that it looks spot on.

Because it’s in closed alpha, the mod requires a key for access. However, I’ll be keeping tabs on the mod’s progress and will stay up-to-date when it arrives for the public.
