SWGO previously reported the December 13 date early last week, but this is the first official confirmation.
This news means that subscribers of EA Access on Xbox One and Origin Access on PC programs will gain the ability to play the Star Wars shooter next Tuesday.
December 13 is at a perfect time before Rogue One’s release; the movie hits theaters in the United States three days later on December 16. Coupled together with hype for the movie’s release, hopefully Battlefront’s arrival to Access will boost overall player counts on PC and Xbox One.
EA announced back in September that Battlefront would arrive to the Access platforms by the end of the year.
Note that only Battlefront’s Standard Edition is arriving to Access at the current time. This means that Access users who want play DLC content will need to purchase the Season Pass or individual expansions separately.
EA Access and Origin Access are subscription-based services that cost US$4.99 per month (Xbox users can also purchase a yearly subscription at $29.99). Users with active subscriptions may play any of the 30-plus games in “The Vault”. The service also provides pre-order discounts for select games, as well as early-access trials for select games.
