Speculation time: Is Sam Witwer in a new KOTOR game? (Updated: Witwer responds)
Updated 1/11 7:30 p.m. PT: Sam Witwer responded via Twitter! It turns out that the folder is simply music ripped from the KOTOR games:
Aw @swgameoutpost sorry guys! That's my directory of Kotor music I've been ripping from the game. Don't tell EA.#EULA

Looks like case closed from here!
Original article: Some new evidence hints that a new Knights of the Old Republic game may be in development and that Star Wars veteran Sam Witwer might be involved.
First spotted by Christian from the YouTube channel Star Wars Follower, Witwer accidentally revealed a folder titled “KOTOR New” during a livestream on Twitch last month.
Putting on the speculation cap, this could indicate that Witwer, who voiced Darth Maul in The Clone Wars and Rebels, is involved in a new KOTOR game. On the other hand, it’s possible that this folder is simply a save game file for KOTOR or some other project Witwer is working on.
Christian also claimed in December that an anonymous source shared information regarding a new KOTOR. According to Christian, Witwer plays a role in the game, which is under development by Obsidian Entertainment, the studio behind 2004’s KOTOR II.
Of course, neither of these claims can be 100-percent verified. As such, I would mark any hints towards another KOTOR game and Witwer’s involvement as be pure speculation at this point. However, these supposed leaks certainly peak the imagination.
Witwer has a long history with the Star Wars franchise. The actor made his first appearance in the galaxy far, far away as the voice of Starkiller in The Force Unleashed series. He would later voice several characters in The Clone Wars and Rebels TV shows. He also voiced Emperor Palpatine in the 2015 version of Battlefront.
Obsidian, meanwhile, is no stranger to the Star Wars brand either. While their last involvement with the franchise was back in 2004 with KOTOR II, developers at the studio have recently expressed interest in returning to Star Wars during an AMA session on Reddit back in November.
“The title is out of our hands as EA has the license for the games,” wrote social media manager Mikey Dowling. “We’d love to return to the galaxy far, far away if we had the chance!”
Several Obisidian developers are also behind an unofficial Mos Eisley re-creation built in Unreal Engine 4.
Obisidian was also involved with KOTOR III before it wound up getting cancelled. A developer at the studio discussed the canned game with Tweak Town in June 2016.
Since the release of KOTOR II, Obsidian is most well-known for developing Fallout: New Vegas and Pillars of Eternity.
Ultimately, I’m dubious that these latest supposed leaks will amount to anything. EA has announced a slew of future Star Wars games, and none of them look to be pure RPGs like KOTOR. However, perhaps EA and Obsidian are actually working on something that’s not ready to be announced yet.
I think a lot of people would love to see a proper RPG set in the Star Wars universe. Something either inspired by or directly related to KOTOR would likely cause a lot of excitement in the community. The Old Republic MMO has provided a bit of KOTOR, but I know it doesn’t satisfy the cravings for a lot of fans.
