Production work for Battlefront 2 trailer possibly teased
While not the biggest news, motion capture work on what could be the Battlefront sequel trailer was recently teased by an EA/DICE employee.
The employee in question is Randy Evans, who is the Senior Video & Media Director/Editor at DICE. He tweeted:
Today we our off to do some mocap for a very big upcoming trailer. @Floppy_Ragdoll seen here pondering the ways of the force. pic.twitter.com/gPCYByXTnK

The @-mention was of Luke Mathews, who also works on the DICE media team as an editor.
Because of “the force” reference and the fact that Evans works on EA Star Wars’ trailers, it seems quite plausible that this tease is in reference to a trailer for the currently-unnamed Battlefront sequel.
With the next Battlefront shipping Holiday season (roughly November through December) this year, a reveal trailer at April’s Star Wars Celebration seems a likely prospect. Celebration will run from April 13-16, so I’d recommend keeping an eye on those dates.
It’s worth noting that the reveal trailer for EA’s first foray into the Battlefront series arrived on April 17, 2015 (edit: at Celebration 2015). A trailer at this year’s Celebration would roughly match-up with the previous game’s pre-launch timeframe.
I’ll also mention that it’s possible we might see some sort of trailer at Celebration for the other EA Star Wars titles (such as the games being made by Visceral and Respawn). That could be what Evans is referencing. However, considering that Evans works at DICE, and DICE is co-creating the next Battlefront with Motive Studios and Criterion Games, my money is on a Battlefront sequel trailer.
Regardless, I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough!
