An EA Star Wars presence officially confirmed for Star Wars Celebration (Updated)
Star Wars Celebration is landing in Orlando next month and EA Star Wars will be in attendance.
Details remain somewhat scant as to what EA’s role will be at the event, which will be held April 13 to 16. A posting on the official Star Wars site reads:
- EA, creators of Star Wars Battlefront, Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, and Star Wars: The Old Republic, will be in attendance to showcase the latest on their Star Wars projects.
- Play the latest Star Wars mobile games, including Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, Star Wars: Pinball, and Star Wars: Force Collection, right on the show floor.
- Experience a special Star Wars: The Old Republic Cantina Community event (off-site), featuring a talk with the developers and opportunity to meet the game’s designers.
This news was also covered on today’s Star Wars Show via YouTube.
As of now, it looks like primary highlight will be the mobile games being playable on the show floor. However, there has yet to be an announcement as to whether or not EA will hold a panel like they did the past two years. It seems their “showcase” may be just that, but I’m merely speculating there.
Previously, the reveal trailer for the first EA Battlefront dropped at Celebration 2015. Then last year, EA revealed that the fourth DLC for Battlefront would be Rogue One related. The 2016 panel also included Amy Hennig, who helms Visceral Games’ untitled Star Wars project, and several other higher-ups from EA’s portfolio of games.

Update 1:20 p.m. PT: If you want to read into things too much, a couple of devs on Battlefront are “hyping” Celebration. Possible tease of a Battlefront sequel trailer? (Again, this doesn’t confirm anything, just fun to think about!)
