Battlefront dev team “listening” to fan feedback on Clone Wars
Clone Wars content in the next Battlefront would likely make a lot of people happy.
Unfortunately, the era hasn’t been confirmed for the sequel, but recent words from an official at EA could provide some hope.
In a forum thread featuring ideas for Clone Wars heroes in the next Battlefront, community manager Mat Everett hinted that hope is not lost for those who want Clone Wars content in the Battlefront sequel.
“You guys and gals have some good ideas,” he wrote. “Just know DICE has been listening. Our team looking forward to the future.”
While this is in no way a confirmation, it’s certainly cool to see that the development team has been listening to Clone Wars feedback. The thread itself covers the whole gamut of possible Clone Wars heroes—ranging from obvious picks like Anakin Skywalker to more fringe characters like the bounty hunter Embo. The thread is a fun read and, like the thread I covered a few weeks back, features some awesome hero screen concepts.
Speculation-wise, the best case scenario for Clone Wars fans would probably be the Prequel Trilogy being a playable era in the next Battlefront alongside Original Trilogy and the Sequel Trilogy. However, Everett could be indicating that the dev team is merely bringing over ideas presented in the thread. That would be similar to how DICE snuck Clone Wars content into their first take on Battlefront (for instance, the Personal Shield is modified from the droideka and villains Dengar and Bossk carry over concepts from their appearances on the Clone Wars TV show).
Personally, I prefer to remain skeptical to believe that we’ll see Clone Wars as a full-blown era until it’s actually confirmed. Still, I think that the era has plenty of content to draw from and could really give the next game some extra depth.
It’s worth adding that multiple eras are confirmed for the next game. In an investor event last Month, EA’s CFO Blake Jorgensen confirmed the presence of Rogue One and The Force Awakens content.
“We’ll add a lot of new Star Wars characters that we didn’t have in the first game two years ago because it was before the two movies that have come out,” he said. “The Star Wars universe is just unbelievable to build games in, because it’s so vast. So, [it’s] very exciting.”
Andrew Wilson, the CEO at EA, previously confirmed multiple eras without talking specifics in January. With no one at EA really mentioning the Clone Wars era just yet, that means Everett’s recent words are the most solid evidence yet.

I am someone who didn’t really care for the Prequels. That being said, I would love to see the Clone Wars brought into Battlefront as a full blown playable era. Say what you will about the Prequels as a whole, but the Clone Wars battles were some of the best parts of them. More importantly, they make for great gameplay, and I always enjoyed the Clone Wars era stuff in the previous Battlefront games. If you are forcing me to choose between PT and OT content, I will always choose OT, but I don’t think we should have to choose in the Battlefront series.
Yes, I very much agree! The movies honestly aren’t my favorite, but they offer a lot of things that would work great in a Battlefront game.
Very good work. I am going to take a look on the threads later. It’s amazing to see that EA is commenting to community proposals. Hopefully EA consider to implemet the series. Then my main hero would be Ahsoka Tano. Last year, I thought they are never going to create the PT. Now I am a little bit on the hype train for Battlefront 2.
I remember the EA trailer where the women from EA says “more eras”. Eras is plural. This would mean PT and ST, because OT is already in the game.
Can’t multiple eras mean all 3 of them?
