EA video editor teases Battlefront II reveal as their “biggest trailer” ever

A trailer hasn’t even been released and the hype for EA’s Battlefront II is already building.

Randy Evans, who is a Senior Video & Media Director/Editor at DICE, just tweeted:

Fellow media team member Luke Mathews replied with:

EA has already confirmed that the Battlefront II reveal trailer will arrive on April 15 at Star Wars Celebration. The game itself is slated for a holiday release later this year (roughly November to December).

For Evans’ words to come true, Battlefront II has a tall order—based on YouTube numbers anyways.

Last year’s Battlefield 1 trailer—which Evans also worked on—has racked up nearly 53 million views since it was released last May. It also has a whopping 2 million likes to only 40,000 dislikes. According to TechnoBuffalo, that trailer was the most watch video game trailer of 2016, beating out Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s reveal by roughly 14 million views.

EA’s first Battlefront didn’t have shabby numbers itself when it came to trailers. However, Battlefront II needs to double the effort if it’s to come close to Battlefield 1’s numbers. The Walker Assault multiplayer gameplay trailer from E3 2015 clocked in at 25 million views, while the 2015 Battlefront reveal pulled in 23 million.

Evans previously teased the Battlefront II trailer in February with this tweet:

I speculated that Evans was likely teasing the Battlefront sequel’s trailer with the above tweet and—with the recent happenings—it surely was the case.

For those who can’t wait for the Battlefront II trailer, here’s the trailer that debuted at Celebration in 2015 for EA’s first Battlefront game to tide you over:
