Assault on Theed confirmed for Battlefront II’s EA PLAY reveal
Get set for a livestream featuring gameplay of Battlefront II’s Assault on Theed during EA PLAY’s opening day.
This gameplay livestream was just announced via a blog post on the official Battlefront II website. The livestream will occur at 12:30 p.m. PT / 3:30 p.m. ET on June 10 and is set to feature gameplay from various streamers, including JackFrags, Darkness429, StoneMountain64 and Neebs Gaming.
The gameplay itself promises a look at Darth Maul, Rey an “other cross-era heroes” as they lead the conflict between droids and clone troopers. In-air combat will include N-1 Starfighters and Vulture Droids, while AT-RTs and AATs will be the ground vehicles. The blog post further mentions that Clone Jet Troopers will “hop from rooftop to rooftop” and B2 Super Battle Droids will “level everything in their path.”
The gamemode itself will be 20-versus-20 and will have the Clone Army mounting “a desperate defense against the invading forces of the Separatist Battle Droids.” The Republic will need to stop a massive Multi-Troop Transport before it reaches the Theed palace doors. By the sound of it, it seems to be a new take on the Walker Assault mode from EA’s first Battlefront game.
Previously, the only look we had of Theed’s streets for Battlefront II was the above concept art. You can also see Theed’s power generator room at the end of the official reveal trailer. Hopefully we’ll get a better look at both areas during this livestream!
EA hasn’t revealed how to watch this livestream just yet. However, it’s a good bet that at the very least you’ll be able to watch it through the EA PLAY website or EA’s Twitch channel.
EA PLAY starts June 10 at the Hollywood Palladium and will run through June 12. If you’re able to make it to the Los Angeles area then, tickets to EA PLAY can be picked up for free. I hope to see a few of you there as EA has invited me down for the event!
Get ready for Battlefront II to arrive on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC this November 17. Stay up-to-date on all things Battlefront II by checking out SWGO on Facebook or Twitter.
I would love to see the traditional Battlefront modes with more freedom. Walker Assault is too linear. Nevertheless, I am looking forward to EA Play.
