Here’s a look at the cancelled Battlefront 3’s first campaign mission

Footage from the cancelled Battlefront 3.

Free Radical’s Battlefront 3 was going to feature something EA’s Battlefront doesn’t have: a campaign.

We can know get a glimpse into what this campaign was supposed to be thanks to FuZaH’s YouTube channel. The channel, which has leaked Battlefront 3 footage before, recently shared gameplay from the campaign’s opening mission.

The campaign was set to focus on X1 and X2, force-sensitive clones. Both characters featured in the campaign of Battlefront: Elite Squadron, a PSP and Nintendo DS game that released in 2009.

You can see the new footage embedded below. Unfortunately audio is rather rough, but still gives interesting insight into the game. Additionally, this is alpha footage of the game, which could explain some of the choppy frame-rates and weird bugs:

Hopefully the next EA Battlefront (due out in 2017) will feature a campaign. There are heavy hints that the sequel will receive one, although that’s far from confirmed at the time of writing.
