Data miner finds new SWTOR music; composer responds

An hour’s worth of music for Star Wars: The Old Republic’s upcoming expansion, Knights of the Eternal Throne was datamined in a recent patch for the game.

User Jedipedia found demo music the files and shared them on Reddit. In a cool twist, the game’s composer, Jesse Harlin, stopped by the thread.

“Perhaps I can help to give some context on this for you all,” he wrote. “This happened last time with KotFE and now it’s happened again with KotET.”

Harlin mostly wanted to clarify that these tracks are have not reached their final form.

“Just so that everyone knows, these are the rough demos that eventually turn into the final tracks,” he wrote. “We headed to Nashville and recorded for two days with a 70 piece orchestra and a choir. Every single piece was recorded live. Those live mixes then replace the MIDI-oriented demos.”
