Reminder: Battlefront has a Bespin free trial coming up

Bespin free trial goes live next week.

With the Death Star expansion looming on the horizon, Battlefront’s Bespin playlist will be playable for free next week.

According to Batlefront’s Live Events calendar, the open trial for Bespin will start this Monday, September 12. It’s slated to end on Sunday the 18th.

No word has been giving for the exact start/end times. However, the last Bespin trial wrapped up at 8 a.m. UTC on its final day, so I would expect a similar timeframe this go round.

Per the event entry on the official calendar:

Explore the Cloud City of Bespin with a free trial weekend. Visit iconic locations shown in the movie, from the platforms, bridges, and unforgettable hallways of the Administrator’s Palace, to the dark, industrial corridors of the Carbonite-Freezing Chambers. You can even take to the skies in a Cloud Car.

Note that this free trial does require a copy of Battlefront with the applicable online service for your platform.

While I’m more partial to the Outer Rim expansion, Bespin isn’t too shabby. It’s definitely worth giving it a go, especially for the price of free. The maps are all gorgeous and its exclusive mode, Sabotage, is fun and engaging. I particularly enjoy the playlist’s 32-player take on Drop Zone.

Hopefully we’ll also get some Death Star news next week. Because the next event on the calendar after this free trial is a double points weekend “to celebrate the launch of the Death Star expansion for Season Pass owners” that will run from September 23 to 25, it stands to reason that the Death Star will arrive September 20. If this is the case, then we should get some sort of news next week, perhaps with a livestream and trailer promoting the DLC.
