Battlefront: Info on hero bug fixes, Bossk voice actor & more!
As the march to Battlefront’s Death Star DLC nears its end, hero designer Guillaume Mroz was able to answer a slew of questions on Twitter.
As there were so many responses, I’ll be doing this in bullet points:
- Dee Bradley Baker voices Bossk. Mroz called Baker’s voice work for the Trandoshan “one of the best” in Battlefront. Baker previously voiced Bossk in the Clone Wars TV show (he also voiced the clone troopers).
- Mroz played coy on whether he thinks Chewbacca or Bossk is better. He stated: “I’m happy with both of them. Bossk’s [voice over] makes him the winner, though.” He also said that he’d check to see if he’s allowed to “do small tweets about [Chewbacca and Bossk’s] abilities today.”
- Don’t expect to be able to go underwater on Scarif in the Rogue One expansion. Not surprising, but hopefully the water will still be gorgeous.
- They’re looking at ways to “force” honor guards to stick with Leia and Palpatine. Someone suggested that the guards should regenerate health with close to their hero and Mroz replied: “Good idea, we’ll investigate.”
- Leia will be getting a small buff in the upcoming update. Mroz will be looking at the option to cancel her Trooper Bane in the update after.
- Han’s shoulder charge in the air will be fixed.
- He’s looking to do “a big vanilla pass” on heroes for the fourth expansion (i.e. fixing the base game heroes). Among those fixes or additions Mroz is aiming for with the Rogue One DLC:
Mroz further commented that he will try to respond to posts on the game’s official forums, but noted that he is busy and that the forums don’t provide great visibility “without clear dev posts.” This is definitely a viable critique of the forums; they have improved things a bit by giving devs a highlight around their name and allowing access to a person’s post history. However, the official forums could still use some work regarding developer posts.
He also teased that the official release date for the Death Star will be revealed “soon.”
And that’s really about it! I’ll try to update this post, or create a new one, should Mroz get the all clear to comment more on Chewie and Bossk’s abilities. However, it’s bedtime where I’m at, so I probably won’t be able to write up another post for eight or so hours.
