More Battlefront info: Pauldron customizations, PC frame-rate, etc. (Updated)
After a rush of news earlier today from Battlefront’s hero designer, we just got some more tidbits from the game’s lead designer, Dennis Brannvall.
Like Guillaume Mroz, Brannvall answered a lot of questions on Twitter:
- Different colored pauldrons are coming. Blue won’t be an option, though. Personally, this sounds really good and I’m interested to see what DICE cooked up for dynamic customization.
- The Death Star is finally “fully operational.” Dennis further added that there won’t be a trailer in two days, which would be Thursday. However, he didn’t clarify if it could drop tomorrow, or if he meant it won’t be within the next two days. I’m hoping for the former. He did later state that no official info will be coming today. He also teased that a livestream is “very likely.”
- Work has been done “to increase frame rate for multiple heroes present on PC.” Unfortunately, it won’t be fixed on all PCs just yet.
- The RT-97c will be getting a buff. Hopefully this will help differentiate it more from the DLT-19, as both currently output the same maximum damage.
- Disruption will be getting some type of nerf, at least against heroes.
- The bowcaster will not be coming as a primary weapon for normal troopers; only Chewbacca gets that honor.
That should sum it up. Mroz hasn’t been able to give us any more hints regarding Chewbacca and Bossk’s abilities so far, but I’m monitoring it and will update should we learn more.
Also, just want to give a heads up: I’ll be busy the next few days during the day. As such, I won’t be able to write up posts as rapidly as I’d like when new info drops. Instead, I’ll hopefully be doing one summary post each night.
Update 1:31 p.m. PT: Dennis clarified the no blue pauldron bit by stating that Vader’s 501st only wore blue as clone troopers, not stormtroopers:
@SavogiSW @Kyle_5252000 501st only looks blue as clone troopers, not as Stormtroopers
