A server-side patch was applied to Battlefront earlier today
Battlefront’s community manager Mat Everett posted notes on a server-side patch that was applied earlier today.
Changes listed in the patch notes are:
– Health tweaks to Star Destroyer
– Force Cards – Bowcaster – Cut the damage against AT-AT’s by 75%
– Stability improvements
Everett noted that “[t]he update focuses on game server specific changes and will not / did not require a download.” He also mentioned that players might’ve noticed “longer load times to join matches during the upgrade process.”
I assume that the health tweaks to the Star Destroyer make it easier for the Rebels to destroy the ship in the opening phase of Battle Station. While I personally haven’t experienced it too much, I’ve seen a number of other players indicate that the first stage of Battle Station ends too often in the Imperial’s favor—meaning that the next two stages aren’t even played.
I also would expect that the changes to the bowcaster are primarily for Chewie. As shown in this BattlefrontUpdates video from before today’s patch, Chewbacca could wreck AT-ATs. It is also possible that it’s talking specifically about the Star Card bowcaster, but I don’t really see why it would need to be tweaked against AT-ATs.
Preferably, we would’ve gotten a bit more detail in the patch notes. Still, it’s nice to see some sort of patch arrive.
