New trailer up for Star Wars Battlefront Rogue One: X-wing VR Mission!
A new trailer for the upcoming PS4-exclusive Rogue One: X-Wing VR Mission in Battlefront has been posted on YouTube.
In the video, a man comes home to his apartment. He then puts on the PlayStation VR headset and his house is blown away before he finds himself flying an X-Wing in the middle of a space battle.
The trailer notes that the PSVR will be available on October 13, but no specific date has been set for the X-Wing mission yet (besides “Holiday 2016”).
Here’s the YouTube description for the mission:
Discover a new world of gaming experiences with PlayStation®VR. Redefine your expectations of immersion as you put yourself in the cockpit of an X-wing to carry out an important mission for the Rebellion with Star Wars Battlefront Rogue One: X-wing VR Mission.
The X-Wing VR mission will be free to those who own both a copy of Battlefront for the PS4 and a PSVR headset. It will also require the PlayStation 4 Camera. Both DICE and Criterion Studios, which helped produce the speeder bike mission currently in the game, are developing the VR mission.
The VR mission certainly looks cool. However, it’s a shame to see it locked down to one system. Additionally, the VR headset is a bit pricey at roughly $400.
