“Small tweaks” coming to droid pickups in Battlefront

Viper Probe Droid pickup in Battlefront.

Christian Johannesen, the weapons designer for Battlefront, revealed yesterday that changes are inbound for droid pickups in Battlefront.

This news comes after a user suggested that the droid and turret pickups lock on from too far away and deal too much damage to heroes. The user added that Luke and Darth Vader should one-shot droids and turrets with their lightsabers.

To this, Johannesen responded that: “We’re working on a few small tweaks to the droids.”

In Battlefront, Rebels can obtain the R5-D4 astromech droid via a Power Up pickup while Imperials can use a Viper Probe Droid. These droids fire upon enemies and send out scan pulses to detect foes.

Johannesen didn’t specify exactly how the droids will be altered, so we’ll have to wait to find out. I suppose it’s possible the tweaks will be directed towards the droids’ impact against heroes. However, because Johannesen’s response wasn’t 100-percent clear, the tweaks could potentially affect something else.

A change to the droids would come after DICE fixed a bug in last month’s patch where droids and turrets could kill players in between round in Heroes vs Villains.

Definitely not huge news, but worth sharing nonetheless!
