Knights of the Eternal Throne doesn’t arrive to The Old Republic until December 2, but several site now have gameplay footage up.

First up is Polygon, which also included an interview with SWTOR producer Ben Irving. Polygon discussed a new endgame system called Galactic Command with Irving. His quote per the article:

All the gear you get in the game now comes from Galactic Command. The idea is that you play whatever activity you want, and you earn points. The harder the activity, the more Galactic Command experience points you receive. Then you get a command rank, and every time you get a command rank, you get a loot crate with powerful gear. That’s the way that you get gear. The higher your command rank, the more powerful the gear you’ll get.

Irving also discussed why KOTET’s nine chapters release all at once, whereas the previous expansion, Knights of the Fallen Empire released episodically:

What we think worked really well in Knights of the Fallen Empire is a giant story chunk to bring people back to the game,” Irving said. “We’re excited about progressing the story and seeing what  will happen to characters. What didn’t work as well is the monthly cadence. We’re in this binge-watching era between Netflix and other things where people want all their story all at once.

You can head on over to Polygon and read the full article, which includes further details on Galactic Command and the story aspect of KOTET. Polygon’s approximately one hour of gameplay is embedded directly below:

Other sites with gameplay include GameSpot, which has roughly 25 minutes of footage.

Meanwhile, YouTube channels Kid-Lee and NewOverlords both have footage of the Crimson Fang story mode, one of the a new Uprisings that’ll be introduced alongside the KOTET update.

Other sites have included write-ups on the Expansion. HardcoreGamer features a review, while MMORPG has a preview look at the expansion.

As mentioned above, the KOTET expansion arrives alongside Game Update 5.0 on December 2. However, those who pre-order will gain early access on November 29.
