Secondary fire in Battlefront to see changes versus heroes
The secondary fire mechanic of the Bryar Pistol and the TL-50 heavy repeater can be a frustrating beast in Battlefront.
Thankfully, it will no longer be such a pest towards heroes. This news comes from weapons designer Christian Johannesen, who confirmed yesterday that secondary fire would be weaker against vehicles and will also have a more difficult cooling flush.
Johannesen acknowledged the change versus heroes via Twitter:
@JamesKlanger @leftweet Yes it's been adjusted.

He further added a “yep!” when someone suggested that secondary fire needs a huge nerf against heroes, not just a minimal one. This certainly seems to confirm that a substantial downgrade will happen for secondary fire against heroes.
Nothing too revealing as this is a simple update from Johannesen; however, it’s good to see changes are coming for secondary fire. While I had fun on some close-quarters maps with the CA-87 shock blaster during this past weekend’s quad-score event, it’s difficult justifying use of any other weapon other than the TL-50 in most situations.
Besides being a solid heavy blaster at a multitude of different ranges, it’s secondary fire currently has almost no downside. This essentially gives the player a free explosive weapon with barely any cooldown.
These changes to secondary fire will likely arrive to Battlefront on December 6 once the Rogue One update goes live.
