Battlefront to have presence, be playable at PSX 2016

Attendees of PlayStation Experience 2016 will be able to test out two new Battlefront additions.

Set for December 3-4 in Anaheim, California, PSX 2016 will feature playable versions of the Rogue One: Scarif expansion and the Rogue One: X-Wing VR Mission. This news comes via a recent blog post on PlayStation.com.

This means that those attend PSX will get to try both Battlefront additions ahead of their public release on December 6.

The Battlefront experiences are part of a larger collection of 100+ playable games at the event, which is in its third incarnation.

Additionally, Battlefront producer Paul Keslin will also be attending PSX:

He later confirmed that he will be there (unsurprisingly) for Battlefront specifically.

As PSX ends two days before Rogue One: Scarif and the VR Mission release, this news isn’t all too surprising. I’m doubtful we’ll get a full Rogue One DLC trailer at PSX; previous DLC trailers arrived either the Thursday or Friday before the expansion’s actual drop date. If a similar pattern holds here, a full trailer for Rogue One: Scarif would land on December 1 or 2.

I also wouldn’t be shocked if gameplay footage hit the web before the PSX event. Those who attend a GameChanger event prior to a DLC’s release usually get to share footage ahead of the expansion’s drop date. Additionally, if there is a livestream, it would likely be on December 2. Note that nothing is confirmed on either of these fronts, however.

Regardless, it’s neat to see that Battlefront will be present at PSX. The event will perhaps provide some advance on the pack, which will hopefully be enjoyable to play!
