Battlefront apparently set for EA Access arrival in mid-December

Battlefront looks ready to hit EA Access and Origin Access Vaults just before Rogue One releases in theaters.

According to Redditor u/Baefrank00, Battlefront will arrive to EA’s PC-centric Origin Access program starting Tuesday, December 13. That Reddit user recently uploaded a screenshot that seems to be of an information card from the Origin storefront.

It’s likely that the Xbox-specific EA Access program will also receive the game on the same date. EA does not currently have an Access program for PlayStation users.

Be aware that I was unable to replicate the card with the date on either Origin.com or the Origin PC client, so take this info with a grain of salt for the time being. However, December 13 would fit nicely with EA’s previous announcement that Battlefront will arrive to the service before the year’s end.

December 13 is also at a perfect time before Rogue One’s release; the movie hits theaters in the United States three days later on December 16. Coupled together with hype for the movie’s release, hopefully Battlefront’s arrival to Access will boost overall player counts on PC and Xbox One.

It’s also a week after the Rogue One: Scarif expansion’s arrival to Battlefront. That final DLC pack will be available for Season Pass holders starting December 6.

Note that, currently, only Battlefront’s Standard Edition is arriving to Access. This means that Access users who want play DLC content will need to purchase the Season Pass or individual expansions separately.

EA Access and Origin Access are subscription-based services that cost US$4.99 per month (Xbox users can also purchase a yearly subscription at $29.99). Users with active subscriptions may play any of the 30-plus games in “The Vault”. The service also provides pre-order discounts for select games, as well as early-access trials for select games.
