EA just announced that it’ll skip E3 for the second straight year in favor of EA PLAY.

The 2017 edition of EA’s dedicated gaming event will take place June 10-12 at the Hollywood Palladium in California.

Per an official press release:

Those that can attend in Hollywood will experience hands-on gameplay, live entertainment and much more. For anyone joining digitally around the world, EA PLAY will feature livestreams, deeper looks into EA’s upcoming games and experiences, and content from some of the best creators in the community.

You can visit the official EA PLAY 2017 homepage to sign up for a newsletter regarding the event. This is the second edition of EA PLAY; it took place at Los Angeles’ Club Nokia in 2016.

Similar to last year, EA PLAY precedes E3, which is slated this year for June 13-15. E3 will also be held in the Los Angeles area.

As EA owns the license for Star Wars video games, there’s a good chance we’ll find out more about the franchise’s upcoming titles at EA PLAY.

I wouldn’t be shocked if we got a gameplay trailer at the event for the Battlefront sequel, which releases later this year. EA previously released a five-minute gameplay trailer for Battlefront at E3 2015 in the leadup to that game’s launch. Last year’s Battlefield One (which had a similar release window to Battlefront 2) also saw its gameplay trailer released at EA PLAY 2016.

Besides Battlefront, we might also be able to expect news on both Visceral and Respawn’s untitled games. I certainly wouldn’t mind a name for Visceral’s project. Both games were teased in a short trailer at EA PLAY 2016, but not much was revealed.

EA PLAY isn’t the only event to look forward to in the coming months for Star Wars games. I’d recommend keeping eyes peeled on Star Wars Celebration, which’ll run April 13-16 in Orlando, Florida. Based on previous timelines, it seems likely that we might get our first glimpse of Battlefront 2 at that event.

Until those events, you can watch EA Star Wars’ teaser reel from last year’s EA PLAY below:
