Battlefront 2: Devs considering feedback from multiple channels
With the next Battlefront set to release later this year, developers on the game are looking at community suggestions from various channels.
To start, the gameplay lead on the sequel, Linus Josephson, confirmed that he’s watching at least one thread on the official forums:
I'll just say ?I listen to the community, from here on then. ✂️https://t.co/vJvE2CmCtI
— Linus Josephson (@vonOben) February 8, 2017
Besides the linked thread in the tweet, there’s a section on the official forums titled “The Next Star Wars Battlefront” where you can share your thoughts and feedback for the upcoming game.
Next, the lighting lead Oscar Carlen tweeted out that the dev team also pays attention to Reddit:
Don't worry #StarWarsBattlefront reddit. We have our eyes on you.

The primary subreddit for Battlefront is r/StarWarsBattlefront. I usually have good interaction on that subreddit and it has a solid community. There’s also r/battlefront, but it’s much smaller and I’m not sure if the dev team really looks at that one.
Finally, a number of the devs can be reached via Twitter. Hero designer Guillaume Mroz confirmed that he looks at suggestions, but he can’t reply to them when they’re talking about the sequel:
Just so you know, I'm reading your messages, but intentionally not answering when it's mentioning battlefront 2. But I'm not ignoting you.
— Guillaume Mroz (@guillaume_mroz) February 17, 2017
Battlefront producer Paul Keslin also echoed many of the above statements:
Many of you are asking for the best place for feedback. Well honestly we Devs read Twitter, our Forums, and we browse Reddit. We'll see it!
— Paul Keslin (@TheVestalViking) February 24, 2017
So, to summarize, the recommended places to give feedback on Battlefront are:
- The official forums (specifically “The Next Star Wars Battlefront“)
- r/StarWarsBattlefront subreddit
- Twitter. Confirmed devs for Battlefront 2 include:
- Linus Josephson (gameplay lead)
- Guillaume Mroz (hero designer)
- Christian Johannesen (weapons designer)
- Oscar Carlen (lighting lead)
- Daniel Cambrand (level artist)
- Paul Keslin (producer)
There is also Dennis Brannvall, who was the lead designer on Battlefront and is now an Associate Design Director at DICE. However, I am currently unsure of his role in the sequel.
You can also try tweeting at the official EA Star Wars account (or commenting on their Facebook page).
Motive Studios, which is working on the Battlefront sequel alongside DICE, also has a few developers on Twitter, although I’ve yet to see them tweet very much about Battlefront.
Note that because the game will likely launch within the next 10 months, it’s probably nearing an Alpha state. As such, some suggestions might not be feasible. For instance, if the devs aren’t planning on adding the Clone Wars, pushing for Clone Wars content now probably won’t help make it happen. However, smaller suggestions, such as those on game mechanics or mode formats, might be more realistic.
I’m also curious what you’d like to see in the next Battlefront. Share your thoughts in the comment section below, or ping SWGO on Twitter or Facebook.
