Take a listen to the canned Ben Kenobi & Royal Guard voice lines from Battlefront II

The Ben Kenobi voice actor for Star Wars Rebels also voiced the role in Battlefront II.

As is with most video games, aspects of the 2005 Battlefront II game wound on on the cutting floor.

Two such aspects include Old Ben Kenobi and Palpatine’s Royal Guard.

These two characters remain in the game files, according to Redditor u/AzelfandQuilava, with several voice-over lines. u/AzelfandQuilava also shared recordings of these lines via YouTube.

First up is Old Ben, who utters such lines as, “There are more machines than men here”:

Then here is the Royal Guard:

Interestingly, the voice actors who recorded these parts remain credited in Battlefront II’s manual (jump to page 14 of the PDF).

Jonothan Cook voiced the Royal Guard, as well as Republic Officer 2. He is also known for voicing Delta-07 in Republic Commando.

Old Ben’s voice actor was Steve Stanton, who also played the game’s Darth Maul. Stanton actually has a rich history in the Star Wars universe. Besides voicing several characters in The Clone Wars TV show, Stanton also lent his talents to Rogue One as the Mon Calamari Admiral Raddus. Stanton will also be reprising his role as Old Ben in an upcoming slate for the TV show Rebels. He also portrayed Old Ben in the 2015 game Disney Infinity 3.0.

While neither character wound up in Battlefront II, both made it in the PSP game Battlefront: Elite Squadron. Both characters were further planned for the cancelled Battlefront III. The Royal Guard also managed to sneak into EA’s Battlefront (albeit a few months late), while Old Ben failed to make an appearance.
