There’s a slew of Star Wars game deals for May the 4th

In anticipation of the unofficial Star Wars holiday, May the 4th, a slew of Star Wars games are on sale across all platforms.

On PC, GOG.com and Steam are each holding sales across their gamut of Star Wars titles. Both sales have heavy price cuts of up to 77- or 75-percent. Most of the deals are comparable across both services, although GOG seems to win out a bit more frequently by slim margins. For example, Battlefront II is US$2.29 on GOG versus $2.49 on Steam and Starfighter is $1.37 on GOG compared to $1.49 on Steam. However, it’s worth noting that Steam’s sale includes a wider variety of games.

Some of the other games featured in both sales include: Knights of the Old Republic (GOG | Steam), Empire at War (GOG | Steam), Republic Commando (GOG | Steam) and Rogue Squadron 3D (GOG | Steam). All told, I was able to count over 25 Star Wars games on sale for under $5 (and with most being under $3).

Over on EA’s Origin platform, Battlefront’s Ultimate Edition is going for $20, a markdown of 50-percent. The game’s Season Pass is 40-percent off at $17.99.

The GOG sale runs until May 12, while Steam’s deals end May 8.

If PC gaming isn’t your thing, the consoles are also having digital sales.

On the Xbox Store, Battlefront’s Ultimate Edition is 50-percent off at $20. I assume most of my readers already own Battlefront, but I figured I’d include that deal anyways! If you don’t own the Season Pass, however, it’s also on sale for $20.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens is also seeing a price cut on Xbox One, from $29.99 to 20.99. There are further deals on the Deluxe Edition of the game and its Season Pass. The backwards compatible Xbox 360 version of LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga is also marked down to $4.99. Xbox Live Gold members should note, however, that The Complete Saga will be available to download at no-extra cost starting May 16.

Both Battlefront and LEGO Star Wars are on sale for the Xbox One until May 9.

Those that are Xbox Live Gold members can find further deals on backwards compatible Xbox 360 games. Gold-exclusive price cuts include The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes, LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars and the first Force Unleashed.  All three of those games are currently $4.99, a dip from their standard $19.99 price. That’s all in addition to The Force Unleashed II currently being free to download for Gold members.

On PlayStation, the Ultimate Edition of Battlefront is on sale from its regular $39.99 price for $25.99. The base game version of Battlefront is 50-percent off at $9.99.

Stepping outside Battlefront, LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens also gets a slash from $29.99 to $23.99. Like their Xbox One counterparts, the Deluxe Edition and Season Pass are also on sale.

There are then a few PlayStation classic games on sale for $4.99, with Bounty Hunter, Jedi Starfighter and Racer Revenge all getting 50-percent price cuts.

Finally, several PSP/PS Vita games are also on sale, including Battlefront II, Battlefront: Renegade Squadron, Battlefront: Elite Squadron, The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes and The Force Unleashed.

The PlayStation Store’s sale ends May 8.
