Battlefront II receives two nominations for the E3 2017 Game Critics Awards

After a successful E3, Battlefront II earned a couple of nominations for the E3 2017 Game Critics Awards.

EA’s Star Wars shooter picked up nods for “Best Action Game” and “Best Online Multiplayer”, which were announced earlier today. The winners will be announced this coming Wednesday, June 28.

For the Best Action Game category, Battlefront II is up against Call of Duty: WWII, Destiny 2, Far Cry 5 and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus.

As for the Best Online Multiplayer category, Battlefront II again faces Call of Duty and Destiny 2 while pirate-themed titles Sea of Thieves and Skull & Bones round out the nominees.

For the 2015 Game Critics Awards, EA’s first Battlefront won both the Best Action Game and Online Multiplayer categories. That year, the game was also up for “Best in Show”, “Best Console Game” and “Best PC Game” but ultimately fell short.

The Game Critics Awards has been around since 2002 and the awards are judged by 38 publications around the world. Games must be playable to judges for at least five minutes during E3 in order be considered.

Battlefront II arrives November 17 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Check out SWGO on Facebook or Twitter to keep up on all the latest Battlefront II news.
