A flurry of information dropped this week in the Star Wars gaming world. Here’s SWGO’s top five news highlights:

1. Dennis Brannvall discussed the Death Star DLC

In a chat with Battlefront Podcast, Battlefront lead designer Dennis Brannvall discussed a wide array of topics regarding the Death Star DLC including Chewbacca, Bossk, level design, and technical hurdles. 2. Bo-Rifle might be a “viral pickup” in Battlefront

According to data miner Uninspired Zebra, Battlefront’s upcoming Bo-Rifle might be a “viral pickup”. In Uninspired Zebra’s words:

Players with the Bo-Rifle will drop a pickup when they die. Anyone who collects that pickup will unlock the Bo-Rifle. And then they’ll also drop a pickup when they die etc.

3. Battlefront II mod using Battlefront III assets to enter open beta

The Battlefront III Legacy mod for Battlefront II will be going into an open beta soon. The full mod plans to include content from both the Clone Wars and Galactic Civil War. It also will contain some game modes from the latest Battlefront, like Turning Point, Supremacy, and Fighter Squadron. Space to Ground Combat is also planned.

4. K-16, TL-50 in Battlefront to be tweaked

Weapons designer Christian Johennesen teased that new arrivals to Battlefront, the K-16 Bryar Pistol and the TL-50, will be seeing some changes. Both of the weapons will be getting secondary fire nerfs, while the K-16’s primary fire will receive a minor buff.

5. SWTOR is doing a musical lead-up ahead of expansion reveal

A reveal will be happening on October 7 for Star Wars: The Old Republic’s Eternal Throne expansion. In anticipation of the event, Bioware is dropping a soundtrack daily. The first track released on Wednesday.
