For the next two days, get ready to be able to select any hero in Battlefront.

From today until Sunday, October 30, players will be able to choose from all the DLCs heroes, even if they don’t own a particular expansion pack. This trial extends to Skirmish and Missions.

The EA Star Wars Twitter account first dubbed the “Heroes Halloween” moniker:

An in-game notification revealed the trial a few hours before EA officially announced it. No specific end time has been announced. However, I’d expect it to run until at least Midnight PT Sunday night.

First off, it’s great to see a free hero trial. It allows players to experience characters they haven’t yet and will hopefully bring an influx of players in over the weekend.

However, I do hope EA/DICE communication improves a bit. The Live Events page still hasn’t been updated, despite it being promoted in last week’s official blog post. “Heroes Halloween” is the sort of thing that would fit perfectly for the calendar.

We do know, though, that a 4X score event and free trial of all released DLCs will be happening November 18-20. EA/DICE has yet to announce any other events.

Regardless, “Heroes Halloween” is a great thing. I really enjoy all the DLC heroes and recommend trying them out this weekend. None of the Imperial villains are shabby in the slightest, and the Rebel roster is pretty solid, too.

Who are you looking forward to playing as this weekend? Let us know in the comments, or share your thoughts on Twitter or Facebook.
