This week, a data miner dug up more details on Battlefront’s mysterious Hero Blast mode and an ambitious mod for Battlefront II went into open beta. Here’s SWGO’s top five news highlights for this past week:

1. Hero Blast details emerge for Battlefront.

Thanks to the work of data miner Uninspired Zebra, more info became available on the Hero Blast mode. Hero selection is random, and you’ll stay the same hero throughout the match. Additionally, the mode has a score limit of 50. Players may also need to purchase the Season Pass in order to play the mode, but that isn’t set in stone yet. Of course, because this mode hasn’t been officially announced, these details may change.

2. Battlefront II mod with Battlefront III assets went into open beta

Battlefront III: Legacy went into an open beta earlier this week. The mod for Battlefront II uses assets from the cancelled Battlefront III. While it’s not fully polished yet (as it’s in beta), the mod is still really cool and worth checking out.

3. The Old Republic saw a new update; info on Uprisings

On Tuesday, SWTOR got a new update, which teased the return of Bounty Contract Week. Meanwhile, Bioware released new details on the upcoming combat experience, Uprisings. The experience targets four-player groups and features multiple challenge levels. Bioware also promises “action-packed battles.”

4. Galaxy of Heroes to get Bistan

EA revealed that Bistan, the “space monkey”, will be November’s login reward for the mobile game. According to the lakuru’s character description, “Bistan is a wild Rebel attacker.” Those that log into the game every day in November will collect extra shards for unlocking the character.

5. Battlefront is in the midst of a hero free trial

Announced earlier today, all heroes are free to play in Battlefront until Sunday, October 30. Dubbed “Heroes Halloween”, the trial also carries over into Missions and Skirmish.
