Speeder bike one-shotting to be fixed in next Battlefront patch?

Speeder bike in Battlefront.

Based on a recent tweet, it appears that one-hit speeder bike kills will be a thing of the past in Battlefront.

In an interaction with a fan on Twitter, hero designer Guillaume Mroz stated that this issue should be fixed in the next patch:

This is quite awesome to hear. Hopefully this fix will also address teamkilling via speeder bikes. Former lead designer Dennis Brannvall touched on this exact topic as early as July.

“We’re going to fix the speeder bike team killing problems,” he wrote on the official forums. “The suggestion of having to stop the bike in order to get off it could potentially be a good one.”

Brannvall later followed up in September, saying, “We are on it!” with regards to hero-one-hit kills via speeder bikes.

Currently, you can’t kill teammates while riding a speeder bike. However, you can kill friendly heroes and infantry with a still-moving neutral speeder bike. You can also kill enemy heroes in one hit via a speeder bike.

As of right now, speeder bikes are only available to ride on the Forest Moon of Endor map.

Additionally, Mroz noted that the fix for the SoroSuub Refinery hero glitch in Extraction is “going through our QA to be tested.” However, he added that he doesn’t “have a live deploy date” for when the patch will be made public.

Of course, with level artist Daniel Cambrand finished with his work on the Rogue One DLC and lighting artist Oscar Carlen starting his work, hopefully we won’t have to wait too much longer.
