Planet Coaster, Death Star collide in this fan-created ride

A screenshot from the Planet Coaster Death Star ride.

Hopefully Disney is taking notes.

That’s because a Planet Coaster player managed to build a Death Star ride in-game and it looks awesome.

Created by YouTube channel Guitar Covers Inc., this ride includes a queue line inside a Rebel base, a jump via lightspeed and travelling through a space battle above the Death Star. After riding through the interior of the battle station, it finishes by going through the trench run. Basically, if Disney were to add this ride to their upcoming Star Wars land, I’d be pretty happy.

You can check out the ride below. The first bit is the queue line and then at 1:50 the actual ride begins:

All told, the creator estimated that the project took around 100 hours to complete. They later attempted to begin an Endor ride (here’s an early picture) but, unfortunately, the numerous trees caused Planet Coaster to crash.

Still, the Death Star ride is a really quite cool. It clearly took a lot of work and effort, and, from my perspective, it paid off.

If you’re wanting to give the ride go and own Planet Coaster, head on over to the Steam Workshop to download it. I don’t have the game and so I can’t try it out, but I’d definitely be keen to hear what others think!
