The next Force Arena update is set to arrive shortly

Death Troopers in Rogue One.

Mobile game Force Arena’s 1.5 update is set for launch in just a few short hours.

According to a post on the official forums, servers will go down to apply the update at 2 a.m. UTC on April 6 / 7 p.m. PT, April 5. Downtime is planned to last up to six hours.

So what’s included in this update?

For starters, four new cards will join the game. On the Rebel Alliance’s side, the Rebel Demolitionist will help provide heavy support against land vehicles and structures. The Keredian Partisan is also being added. This cyborg-like warrior can attack up to four enemies simultaneously with a boomerang-shaped weapon.

Meanwhile, the Imperials will get the TX-225 Assault Tank, which was seen on the streets of Jedha in the Rogue One movie. It will counter the Demolitionist with strength against vehicles and structures. The final addition are the Death Troopers. This elite unit enters the battlefield in groups of two and can decimate Rebels with their precise aim and enhanced blaster rifles.

Beyond the new cards, update 1.5 will include a bevy of new features:

  • Guild Co-Op Mission
  • Mission Reward Stages
  • Card Donation
  • Faction-based Rating Points and Levels
  • A new replay system

Competitive 2 vs. 2 has also been dropped in favor of casual 2 vs 2. This decision was met with some discomfort in the community. Netmarble issued a response, which you can read here. Here’s a key quote from that response:

We may find that the results of this change is that it is wrong in the very short term, and of course this will bring back points to the 2 vs 2 mode. We value your actual experience in the game rather than our expectations of your experience. All we ask is that this is given a fair shot at the beginning.

No matter what will happen in the future, 2 vs 2 Ranked Matches will make their way back, and with your valuable suggestions, we can make the experience even better.

Finally, there are a slew of balancing tweaks and the 1 vs. 1 map has been shrunk slightly. All in all, there are a lot of changes coming up; you can peruse the full details on the official forums.
