New Battlefront II image of Darth Maul, Yoda plus small details on tomorrow’s livestream

The Battlefront II teases just keep coming.

Sometime this afternoon, EA updated their recent beta and pre-order blog post with the above image of Darth Maul and Yoda facing off within a building in the Naboo city of Theed (here’s a link to the full HD version of the image).  There’s even a couple of clone troopers hiding in the background—providing a much better view of the troopers than Wednesday’s Twitter image:

To note, these are Phase II clone troopers and not the Phase I variety that fought on Geonisis in Attack of the Clones. Additionally, the left clone trooper is carrying a satchel, likely indicating he’s some type of class beyond the normal Assault one (perhaps Heavy?). The right trooper seems to be a normal clone, so I’d guess he’s the Assault class.

I must add the Yoda really looks incredible in the rendering. I’m sure he’ll be a sight to behold once we see him actually in-game. But for now, here’s a close-up of the Jedi Master from that latest image:

Besides that new image, the official EA Star Wars Twitter account shared some new details on tomorrow’s livestream:

The big new bit is that the Galactic Assault mode is three phases, possibly similar in vein to the Battle Station and Infiltration modes from the final two expansions of EA’s first Battlefront.

I believe this is also the first time EA has mentioned that tomorrow’s livestream will feature a look at the customization and progression system. Of course, that fact is not all too surprising.

And I been sharing the following bit of info a lot recently, but to reiterate for those that don’t know: The gameplay trailer will drop sometime tomorrow during EA PLAY’s opening presentation, which begins at Noon PT / 3 p.m. ET. You’ll be able to stream that via EA.com and EA’s Twitch channel.

The Assault on Theed livestream—which will provide our first in-depth look at Battlefront II gameplay—starts a half hour later at 12:30 p.m. PT / 3:30 p.m. ET. Besides the streaming options above, EA Star Wars’s official YouTube channel will also be hosting the stream.

If you’re looking for start times in other time zones, this is a handy map.
