Weekly Wrap-Up: Battlefront 2 release time frame, Clone Wars mod & more!

This week more details dropped on release date details for EA’s Battlefront 2 and a new DLC pack dropped for LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Here’s SWGO’s top five news highlights for this past week:

1. Battlefront 2 to come in later stages of 2017

According to EA CFO Blake Jorgensen, Battlefront 2 is slated to ship “a year from now.” This wording certainly seems to imply that the game will arrive in either October or November of next year. Additionally, Jorgensen promised a “deep and engaging offering.”

2. The Battle of the Clone Wars is an epic original Battlefront II mod

Currently in closed alpha, some modders are building an addon for the original Battlefront II that brings The Clone Wars TV show to the game. It includes new characters like Ashoka Tano and Plo Koon, while revamping old ones, such as Anakin and Obi-Wan, to match their appearance on the show. Oh, and BattlefrontUpdates managed to capture over 15 minutes of gameplay for the mod.

3. Galaxy of Heroes got a preview of Ships, plus details on player habits

Over last weekend, Galaxy of Heroes’ upcoming addition, Ships, got a small preview. The preview focused on Fleet Commanders, who will bring additional bonuses to players fleets. The initial starting Fleet Commanders will be Admiral Ackbar, Grand Moff Tarkin and Mace Windu. Additionally, EA revealed that players spend an average of 2.5 hours per day playing the mobile game.

4. LEGO Star Wars’ final DLC dropped

Escape from Starkiller Base was released on Tuesday. Featuring two Resistance pilots who must escape the First Order’s super weapon before it explodes, the level pack is the final DLC for LEGO Star Wars’ Season Pass.

5. A new customization option arrived to Battlefront

The Cybernetic Female made her way onto the battlefront this past Monday. As part of a Halloween event, the new customization option is free to all players, with no cost or regard to rank.
